Motorcycle Nitrous Kits

katana nitrous kit

Most nitrous systems are composed of an injection point, solenoids to control fuel and nitrous flow, lines, a tank and electrical activation wiring/switch. The injection point can be a carburetor spacer plate with a perforated pipe running through it or a jet that can be machined into the engine intake system. Most plate systems have the ability to install changeable jets to set up how my "juice" you want going in.

The Suzuki katana with nitrous can be a fun ride. Having the extra power from a well set up nitrous application can turn an ordinary motorcycle into a fire breathing sling shot. An extra 50% more hp at the touch of a button can turn a bad race into a quick victory.

If your trying to figure out how to install nitrous systems you may want to contact the kit manufacturer directly. Most kits are fairly easy to install and come with all the hardware, tubing, nitrous system wireing(wiring) and an installation manual. Dry systems are the easiest since they have no fuel enrichment systems added. However, most wet systems can be set up to create more power vs. a dry system.

The electrical control end of it consists of an arming on/off switch and a temporary activation press/release bottom. Some more elaborate systems can include a fuel/oil pressure safety switch so the systems will now engage when pressure is too low for safety operation of the engine. Full throttle switches are commonly used to prevent part throttle activation where nitrous can damage and engine.

Often a nitrous system will be limited by the size of the solenoid passages and the injection point jets or perforations. Larger systems will have large oversize solenoids and multiple injection jets.

Not commonly known is that nitrous in not flammable, it is an accelerant. Most people think it's an explosive. This misconception could be formed from the pressure of the bottle and when mistreated, its ability to over pressure the bottle resulting in a burst disk to release tank contents or breach the bottle.
